Target Information
PRRX1과 PRRX2는 craniofacial 및 limb 발달에 필수적인 paired-class homeobox 유전자로, cranial mesenchyme, limb buds, axial mesoderm, branchial arches 등에서 유사한 발현 패턴을 보입니다.
PRRX1은 심장 내막 쿠션, 판막 등에 발현되며, PRRX2는 심근과 심실 중격에서 발현됩니다. PRRX2는 뇌에서 발현되지 않지만 PRRX1은 ventral hypothalamus와 telencephalon에서 발현됩니다.
PRRX1 결손 생쥐는 두개골 및 사지, 척추의 골격 결함을 보이나, PRRX2 단독 결손은 이상이 없으며, PRRX1/PRRX2 이중 결손은 새로운 형태의 골격 이상을 나타냅니다.
정상 성체 흰쥐 폐동맥에서는 PRRX1/PRRX2 전사체가 검출되지 않으나, 혈관 질환 시 Tenascin-C 발현 부위에서 PRRX 유전자 발현이 유도됩니다.
