Target Information
SCAND1 (SCAN domain containing 1), also known as RAZ1 or SDP1, is a nuclear protein that may play a role in transcription regulation. It is widely expressed, with highest levels in kidney, thyroid, liver, prostate, and testis.
SCAND1 contains one SCAN box domain but lacks a zinc finger motif, distinguishing it from most SCAN domain proteins. The SCAN box is a conserved leucine-rich domain (~60 amino acids) involved in protein–protein interactions.
SCAND1 interacts with ZNF38, ZNF191, MZF-1, ZNF202, and PPARγ, suggesting a role in transcriptional regulation of genes related to energy homeostasis and lipid metabolism.
