This antibody recognizes the RBD domain of the SARS-CoV-2 Spike protein.
It is recommended that the antibody be carefully titrated for optimal performance in the assay of interest.
This antibody is not recommended for Western blot application.

SARS-CoV-2 (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2), also known as 2019-nCoV, is a virus causing illnesses from mild cold symptoms to severe respiratory distress and death.
The Spike (S) protein is crucial for viral attachment, fusion, and entry, serving as a target for antibody and vaccine development.
The receptor-binding domain (RBD, S-RBD) in the Spike protein binds strongly to human and bat ACE2 receptors, showing higher affinity than SARS-CoV RBD.
The S1 subunit contains the RBD that specifically interacts with ACE2 receptors on target cells.
