PIK3C3 (hVPS34)는 PI3 Kinase 패밀리의 유일한 class III 멤버로, phosphatidylinositol (PI)을 인산화하여 phosphatidylinositol 3-phosphate [PI(3)P]를 생성합니다. 이는 FYVE 및 Phox 도메인을 포함하는 하위 효과기 단백질을 막으로 유도합니다. PIK3C3는 mTOR과의 영양 신호 전달, 자가포식(autophagy), 세포 내 수송에 관여하며, 세포질 분열 중 절단(abscission) 단계에 필수적입니다. 또한 리소좀 효소 전구체의 수송 및 초기에서 후기 엔도솜으로의 이동에 필요합니다.
