Target Information
The Ras superfamily of small GTP-binding proteins are critical mediators of diverse cell signaling pathways, including those leading to proliferation, cytoskeletal organization, and secretion. The conversion between active GTP-bound and inactive GDP-bound forms is regulated by proteins that modulate GTPase activity or GDP/GTP exchange rates.
Rho GDI proteins—including Rho GDIα, Ly-GDI (Rho GDIβ), and Rho GDIγ—interact with Ras-like GTP-binding proteins such as Rho A, Rho B, Rac, and Cdc42. Ly-GDI is expressed mainly in hematopoietic cells, particularly B and T lymphocytes.
