Target Information

Inebilizumab is a biosimilar antibody that targets CD19. CD19 belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily and has two Ig-like domains. It is expressed on 100% of peripheral B cells and also found on certain myeloid leukemia cells. CD19 serves as a key functional regulator of normal and malignant B cell proliferation and is expressed in all B cell precursor leukemias. This molecule lowers the threshold for antigen receptor-dependent stimulation and acts as a signal-amplifying coreceptor for the B cell receptor (BCR). Mutations in CD19 lead to hypogammaglobulinemia, while overexpression results in B cell hyperactivity.
