• Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature (RT).
• Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at RT for 20 min.

Target Information

This gene encodes a member of the chaperonin family. The encoded mitochondrial protein may function as a signaling molecule in the innate immune system. It is essential for folding and assembly of newly imported proteins in mitochondria. The gene region functions as a bidirectional promoter with a related family member. Several pseudogenes are associated, and two transcript variants encoding the same protein have been identified. Mutations in this gene cause autosomal recessive spastic paraplegia 13.
