본 항체의 면역원은 소 척수에서 분리한 GFAP 단백질입니다.
Target Information
GFAP(Glial fibrillary acidic protein)은 class III intermediate filament 단백질군에 속하며, 주로 중추신경계의 성상교세포(astrocyte) 및 일부 신경교세포에서 발현됩니다.
GFAP는 신경줄기세포에서도 강하게 발현되며, astrocytic cell 마커로 널리 사용됩니다. 또한 다양한 종류의 뇌종양에서 GFAP의 발현이 보고되었습니다.
GFAP는 수정체 상피, 간의 Kupffer 세포, 일부 침샘 종양 세포 및 적혈구에서도 발견됩니다.
GFAP는 발달 과정 중 astrocyte와 다른 glial cell을 구분하는 마커로 활용되며, GFAP 유전자 변이는 Alexander 병과 관련이 있습니다.
GFAP 유전자의 대체 스플라이싱으로 인해 여러 전사 변이체와 이소폼이 생성됩니다.
