Target Information
Red fluorescent protein (TagRFP), derived from Entacmaea quadricolor eqFP611 (Uniprot ID: Q8ISF8), is widely used in biotechnology and cell biology as a spectrally distinct companion or substitute for GFP.
- Pigment protein with stable emission across pH 4–10
- Maturation via a green intermediate within 12 hours
- Recombinant expression at high temperatures induces oligomerization
- Abs(max) = 559 nm, secondary peak at 525 nm
- Strong fluorescence emission peak at 611 nm
