F-box proteins are classified into:

- Fbls: containing leucine-rich repeats
- Fbxs: containing other protein-protein interaction modules or no recognizable motifs
The FBXO6 protein belongs to the Fbxs class, with a C-terminal region highly similar to rat NFB42, which may be involved in cell cycle control.
