For IHC(P), use heat-induced antigen retrieval in pH 6.0 citrate buffer. After incubation with the primary antibody, slides were incubated with biotinylated secondary antibody, followed by alkaline phosphatase-streptavidin and chromogen.


Target Information

Oncogene ERBB4 (HER4) is a member of the type I receptor protein tyrosine kinase subfamily that includes EGFR, ERBB2, and ERBB3.
ERBB4 binds and is activated by neuregulins and other factors, inducing cellular responses such as mitogenesis and differentiation.
It is a receptor for heregulin and mediates tyrosine phosphorylation upon activation.
ErbB4 plays critical roles in signal transduction regulating metabolism, transcription, cell cycle progression, cytoskeletal rearrangement, apoptosis, and differentiation.
ErbB4 is predominantly expressed in breast carcinoma cell lines and normal tissues including skeletal muscle, heart, pituitary, brain, and cerebellum.
Its expression varies among breast tumor cell lines, with elevated levels in certain human tumor cell lines, suggesting a potential role in malignancies.
