MICALs (Molecules Interacting with CasL)는 다양한 세포 기능을 가진 비정형 다중 도메인 플라보효소입니다. 세 가지 알려진 아이소폼(MICAL1, MICAL2, MICAL3)과 MICAL-like 단백질(MICAL-L1, MICAL-L2)이 존재합니다.
MICAL2는 FAD 결합 도메인, calponin homology (CH) 도메인, LIM 도메인을 포함하고 있으며, actin stress fiber 조절과 정상적인 actin 조직 유지에 관여합니다. 또한 MICAL2-PV라는 새로운 splice 변이가 전립선암 진행과 관련되어 있음이 보고되었습니다.
