Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
IMPA1 (Myo-inositol monophosphatase 1) is an enzyme essential for the synthesis of phosphatidylinositol and polyphosphoinositides. It functions as a homodimer and serves as a pharmacological target for lithium in the brain. IMPA1 is a key enzyme in the phosphatidylinositol signaling pathway, and inhibition of its activity may contribute to the anti-manic and anti-depressant effects of lithium. Genetic studies suggest that variations in the noncoding regions of the IMPA1 gene may influence lithium response in psychiatric patients.
