Target Information
NQO1 is a member of the NAD(P)H dehydrogenase (quinone) family and acts as a cytoplasmic 2-electron reductase. This FAD-binding protein forms homodimers and reduces quinones to hydroquinones, preventing the formation of radical species from one-electron reductions. Altered expression of NQO1 has been observed in various tumors and is associated with Alzheimer’s disease (AD).
