Target Information
The Golgi apparatus participates in glycosylation and transport of proteins and lipids in the secretory pathway and consists of stacked cisternae. Interactions between the Golgi and microtubules are crucial for its reorganization during mitosis. GM130 is one of the golgins, a family of proteins localized to the Golgi, and is implicated in Golgi stacking and vesicular transport. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants exist, though their full-length nature remains undetermined.
