The MicroSEQ™ E. coli O157:H7 Detection Kit detects E. coli O157:H7 simply, reliably, and rapidly in food samples. The assay uses polymerase chain reaction (PCR) to amplify a microorganism-specific DNA target and a TaqMan™ probe to detect the amplified sequence.

Lyophilized for Efficiency and Ease of Use

Reagents are lyophilized into preformatted assay beads containing enzyme, primers, probes, and internal positive control (IPC). IPC helps detect inhibition and prevent false negatives.

Enhanced Specificity

The genome of E. coli O55:H7 was sequenced using the Applied Biosystems™ SOLiD™ platform and compared to E. coli O157:H7. Unique sequences were used to design the assay. TaqMan™ chemistry enhances specificity by using both primers and probes, reducing false positives compared to SYBR™ Green.
