Target Information
This gene encodes a nuclear protein involved in cell-cycle regulation. The encoded protein acts as a ubiquitin-ligase capable of ubiquinating PCNP (PEST-containing nuclear protein), and together they may play a role in tumorigenesis. It contains NIRF_N, PHD finger, SRA, and RING finger domains, several of which are essential for regulating cell proliferation. The protein may also contribute to intranuclear degradation of polyglutamine aggregates. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants, some non-protein coding.
