Target Information
CD45 (LCA, leukocyte common antigen) is a receptor-type protein tyrosine phosphatase expressed in all nucleated hematopoietic cells, comprising about 10% of lymphocyte surface proteins. It is absent in non-hematopoietic cell lines and tissues. CD45 plays a crucial role in lymphocyte development and antigen signaling by regulating Src-family kinases. Multiple isoforms exist due to alternative splicing, differing in extracellular domains. CD45RA is one such isoform with restricted expression among lymphoid subtypes. CD45 regulates T- and B-cell receptor signaling, suppresses JAK kinases, and modulates integrin-mediated signal transduction, apoptosis, and various immune functions.
