Target Information
CD45 (LCA, leukocyte common antigen) is a receptor-type protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) ubiquitously expressed in all nucleated hematopoietic cells, comprising approximately 10% of all surface proteins in lymphocytes. It is absent on non-hematopoietic cell lines and tissues. CD45 glycoprotein plays a crucial role in lymphocyte development and antigen signaling, acting as a regulator of Src-family kinases. Multiple isoforms exist due to alternative splicing, differing in extracellular domains but sharing identical transmembrane and cytoplasmic regions. CD45RA is one such isoform, showing restricted expression among lymphoid subtypes. CD45 regulates T- and B-cell receptor signaling, suppresses JAK kinases, and modulates integrin-mediated pathways, apoptosis, and immune functions.
