Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
Desmosomal cadherin desmocollin DSC1 is expressed in the upper epidermis where strong adhesion is required. DSC1 is a type I membrane protein essential for cell adhesion and barrier maintenance in the epidermis and contributes to epidermal differentiation. The DSC1 gene comprises 17 exons spanning approximately 33 kb on chromosome 18q12.1.
