CNOT4는 575개의 아미노산으로 구성된 E3 ubiquitin ligase 활성을 가진 단백질로, 단백질 변형 및 유비퀴틴화 과정에 관여합니다. C4C4 타입의 zinc finger domain, RNA recognition motif, bipartite nuclear localization signal을 포함합니다.
CNOT4는 CCR4-NOT (CAF1) core complex의 구성 요소로, 다양한 유전자의 전사 조절에 관여하며, CNOT1 및 E2 ubiquitin ligase와 상호작용합니다. 또한 DNA 손상 반응 시 ATM 및 ATR에 의해 인산화될 수 있음이 보고되었습니다.
