Target Information
TMPRSS2 is a serine protease family protein containing a type II transmembrane domain, receptor class A domain, scavenger receptor cysteine-rich domain, and protease domain.
It is regulated by androgenic hormones in prostate cancer cells and down-regulated in androgen-independent prostate cancer tissue.
The protease domain is cleaved and secreted into the cell media after autocleavage.
