Target Information
RECK is a cysteine-rich extracellular protein with protease inhibitor-like domains. Its expression is strongly suppressed in many tumors and oncogene-transformed cells. In normal cells, RECK functions as a membrane-anchored glycoprotein that negatively regulates matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9), an enzyme involved in tumor invasion and metastasis.
