Target Information
Cytomegalovirus (CMV) is an enveloped double-stranded DNA virus, commonly known in humans as human herpesvirus 5 (HHV-5).
Glycoprotein B (gB) is the main antigenic protein within the envelope of HCMV and is required for HCMV-mediated membrane fusion along with the gH/gL complex.
The unprocessed precursor of HCMV gB is 906 amino acids in length, with an approximate molecular weight of 100 kDa.
