Product Specific Information
- In direct ELISAs, less than 1% cross-reactivity with recombinant human (rh) GDNF, recombinant rat GDNF, rhNeurturin, and rhTGF-beta 1 is observed.
- Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
- Endotoxin level is <0.10 EU per 1 µg of the antibody by the LAL method.
Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) family of ligands, which belong to the TGF-beta superfamily. GDNFs have neurotrophic properties and potential applications in gene therapy for neurodegenerative diseases. Artemin supports the survival of various peripheral and dopaminergic CNS neuron populations. It acts as a ligand for the RET receptor and utilizes GFR-alpha 3 as a coreceptor. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
