PA1-5868 detects RanGEF in human and Xenopus samples.
It has been successfully used in immunofluorescence, immunoprecipitation, immunohistochemistry, and Western blot applications.
The immunogen is His-tagged recombinant Xenopus RCC1 protein purified from E. coli.
Target Information
RCC1 (Ran guanine nucleotide exchange factor) is a guanine-nucleotide releasing factor that promotes the exchange of Ran-bound GDP for GTP.
It regulates the onset of chromosome condensation during the S phase, binds nucleosomes and double-stranded DNA, and functions as part of a signal pathway detecting unreplicated DNA.
The RCC1-Ran complex plays a key role in nucleo-cytoplasmic transport, mitosis, and nuclear-envelope assembly.
