Target Information
The PPP2R2A gene encodes a regulatory subunit of protein phosphatase 2 (PP2A), one of the four major Ser/Thr phosphatases involved in the negative regulation of cell growth and division.
PP2A consists of a catalytic subunit and a constant regulatory subunit that associates with various regulatory subunits. The B regulatory subunit modulates substrate selectivity and catalytic activity.
PPP2R2A encodes the alpha isoform of the regulatory subunit B55 subfamily. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described.
