Target Information

DR3/TNFRSF25 is a member of the TNF-receptor superfamily. This receptor is expressed preferentially in lymphocyte-enriched tissues and may regulate lymphocyte homeostasis. It stimulates NF-kappa B activity and regulates cell apoptosis through adaptor proteins containing death domains. Knockout studies in mice indicate its role in removing self-reactive T cells in the thymus. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encode distinct isoforms, many of which are secreted. Upon T-cell activation, alternative splicing predominantly produces full-length, membrane-bound isoforms, involved in controlling lymphocyte proliferation.
