Product Specific Information
This antibody reacts with mouse Connexin 36. On Western blots, it identifies a single band at approximately 36 kDa. Specificity was demonstrated using Connexin 36 knockout mice. Reactivity has been confirmed with mouse Connexin 36 transfected HeLa cell lysates, as well as mouse brain, retina, and pancreas homogenates.
Target Information
Connexin-36 (CX36) is a member of the connexin gene family predominantly expressed in mammalian neurons. Connexins assemble in groups of six to form connexons, which pair to create gap junction intercellular channels. Mutations in connexin genes can cause functional and developmental abnormalities.
