Mouse anti-Pig CD31, clone LCI-4 recognizes porcine CD31, also known as Platelet Endothelial Cell Adhesion Molecule (PECAM-1).
Target Information
CD31 (Platelet Endothelial Cell Adhesion Molecule-1, PECAM-1) is an inhibitory coreceptor involved in regulation of T cell and B cell signaling via dual ITIM motifs that, upon phosphorylation, provide docking sites for protein-tyrosine phosphatases.
CD31 is expressed ubiquitously within the vascular compartment, mainly at junctions between adjacent cells. The N-terminal Ig-like domain mediates homophilic binding, important for cell-cell interactions.
It plays diverse roles in:
- Integrin-mediated cell adhesion
- Transendothelial migration
- Angiogenesis
- Apoptosis
- Negative regulation of immunoreceptor signaling
- Autoimmunity and macrophage phagocytosis
- IgE-mediated anaphylaxis and thrombosis
