EGFR (Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor)는 다양한 성장 인자에 반응하여 신호를 전달하는 수용체 티로신 키나아제로, 여러 암종에서 과발현되는 것으로 알려져 있습니다. 인간의 염색체 7에 위치한 EGFR 유전자로부터 발현되며, HER/ERbB 단백질군에 속합니다. EGF나 TGF-α 등의 리간드가 결합하면 EGFR은 이합체화되어 세포 내 도메인의 티로신 잔기들이 자가 인산화됩니다. 과발현은 두경부, 뇌, 방광, 위, 유방, 폐, 자궁내막, 자궁경부, 외음부, 난소, 식도 및 편평세포암 등 다양한 종양에서 관찰됩니다.
