ATAD2 belongs to the ATPase family of proteins, which share a conserved ATP-binding region (~220 amino acids) and contain one or two AAA (ATPases Associated with Diverse Cellular Activities) domains.
These proteins perform chaperone-like functions that assist in the assembly, operation, and disassembly of protein complexes.
ATAD2 is involved in estrogen-induced cell proliferation and cell cycle progression of breast cancer cells.
