The Human MPIF (CCL23) Simplex ProcartaPlex Kit measures MPIF (CCL23) protein and is designed to be combinable with other Simplex kits, allowing users to create custom multiplex panels utilizing Luminex xMAP technology for protein detection and quantitation. When combining multiple Simplex kits, only one buffer kit (sold separately) is required per assay plate regardless of plex size.

About ProcartaPlex Assays for the Luminex Platform

ProcartaPlex immunoassays are based on the sandwich ELISA principle, using two highly specific antibodies that bind to different epitopes of a target protein. This allows simultaneous quantitation of multiple proteins using a Luminex instrument. These assays require as little as 25 μL of plasma or serum, or 50 μL of cell culture supernatant, and yield analyzed results in approximately four hours.

ProcartaPlex assays employ Luminex xMAP (multianalyte profiling) technology for simultaneous detection and quantitation of up to 80 protein targets in a single 25–50 μL sample from plasma, serum, cell culture supernatants, and other biological fluids.

The Luminex beads used in ProcartaPlex assays are internally dyed with precise proportions of red and infrared fluorophores to create spectrally unique bead signatures. These are identified by Luminex detection systems (e.g., Luminex 200, FLEXMAP 3D, MAGPIX). Each bead type is coated with antibodies specific to a single target protein, enabling multiplexed analysis. Bound proteins are detected using biotinylated antibodies and streptavidin–R-phycoerythrin (RPE).

Unlike traditional ELISA, the capture antibody in ProcartaPlex assays is conjugated to a bead rather than adsorbed to a microplate well, allowing reagents to remain free-floating in solution. Instruments such as the Luminex 200 use two lasers—one to identify bead signatures and another to quantify RPE fluorescence, which correlates with protein concentration. This enables profiling of more targets using less sample and time compared to conventional ELISA.
