Target Information
Neurogenic locus notch homolog protein 2 (NOTCH2)는 고도로 보존된 Notch 신호전달 경로 단백질입니다. NOTCH2는 다수의 epidermal growth factor-like (EGF) 반복을 포함하는 세포외 도메인과 다양한 도메인 구조를 가진 세포내 도메인을 포함하는 type 1 transmembrane 단백질입니다.
NOTCH2는 막 결합 리간드 Jagged1, Jagged2, Delta1과 상호작용하여 세포 운명 결정(cell-fate determination)을 조절합니다.
NOTCH2 결함은 Alagille syndrome type 2 (ALGS2)의 원인으로 알려져 있으며, 이는 간 담관 결핍과 담즙 정체를 포함한 다기관성 상염색체 우성 질환으로, 심장, 골격, 안과적 이상을 동반할 수 있습니다. 또한 특징적인 얼굴 형태 및 드물게 신장 및 혈관계 이상을 나타낼 수 있습니다.
