GSK3B는 에너지 대사, 신경세포 발달 및 체형 형성에 관여하는 proline-directed serine/threonine protein kinase입니다. 이 효소는 포도당 항상성의 음성 조절자이며, 염증, ER-stress, 미토콘드리아 기능장애 및 세포사멸 경로에 관련되어 있습니다. 또한 Wnt/beta-catenin 신호 전달 경로의 핵심 구성 요소로, beta-catenin 분해를 매개하여 Wnt 신호를 억제합니다. GSK3B는 Hedgehog, Notch, 인슐린 신호 전달에도 관여합니다.
