이 유전자는 oxysterol-binding protein(OBP) 계열에 속하는 단백질을 암호화합니다. OBP 계열은 세포 내 지질 수용체로, 대부분 N-말단 pleckstrin homology 도메인과 C-말단 OSBP 유사 sterol-binding 도메인을 포함합니다. 일부 변이체는 sterol-binding 도메인만을 포함하며, 대체 프로모터 사용 또는 스플라이싱에 의해 다양한 isoform이 생성됩니다.
