This peptide corresponds to a 14 amino acid sequence near the carboxy terminus of human TAB2.
PEP-1408 can be used as a blocking peptide with the polyclonal antibody PA5-34365.
Target Information
TAB2 is an activator of MAP3K7/TAK1, required for IL-1 induced activation of NF-kappaB and MAPK8/JNK. It forms a kinase complex with TRAF6, MAP3K7, and TAB1, acting as an adaptor linking MAP3K7 and TRAF6. TAB2, TAB1, and MAP3K7 also participate in TNFSF11/RANKL-induced signal transduction through activation of TNFRSF11A/RANK, potentially regulating osteoclast development and function.
Recent studies show that TAB2 and TAB3 interact with the autophagy mediator Beclin-1; upon autophagy induction, they dissociate from Beclin-1 and bind TAK1. Overexpression of TAB2 and TAB3 inhibits autophagy, while depletion triggers it, suggesting their role as control points for autophagy.
