Mouse anti-dog CD34 antibody, clone 1H6 recognizes the canine homologue of CD34, a glycosylated type I transmembrane protein (~110 kDa) expressed on endothelial cells and hematopoietic stem cells (McSweeney et al., 1998).


Target Information

CD34 is a highly glycosylated monomeric surface protein (111–115 kDa) found in many stem cell populations. It serves as a stem cell marker with reversible expression on human hematopoietic stem cells. CD34 may function as a receptor regulating adhesion, differentiation, and proliferation of stem and progenitor cells. It possibly mediates stem cell attachment to the bone marrow matrix or stromal cells and may act as a scaffold for glycans binding to lectins. The intracellular domain is phosphorylated by protein kinase C, suggesting a role in signal transduction.
Diseases associated with CD34 dysfunction include dermatofibrosarcoma and neurofibroma.
