Target Information
The coiled-coil domain is a common protein motif involved in protein oligomerization, found in transcription factors and intermediate filaments.
CCDC134 is a secretory protein known to inhibit the transcriptional activity of Elk1. Overexpression of CCDC134 inhibits phosphorylation of Erk and JNK/SAPK, but not p38 MAPK.
Conversely, siRNA against CCDC134 activates Elk1 transcriptional activity and phosphorylation of Erk and JNK/SAPK, suggesting an inhibitory role of CCDC134 in MAPK-mediated Elk1 transcription.
CCDC134 is widely expressed in normal adult tissues, tumors, and cell lines.
