Target Information
BAF53A는 actin-related proteins (ARPs) 계열 단백질로, conventional actin과 유사한 아미노산 서열을 공유합니다. ARPs는 ATP 결합 홈(actin fold)을 가지며, 소포 수송, 방추체 정렬, 핵 이동, 염색질 재구성 등 다양한 세포 과정에 관여합니다.
이 유전자는 포유류의 BAF (BRG1/brm-associated factor) 복합체의 53 kDa 서브유닛 단백질을 암호화하며, SWI/SNF 복합체와 기능적으로 관련이 있습니다. β-actin과 함께 BRG1의 ATPase 활성 및 BAF 복합체의 염색질 결합에 필수적입니다. 세 가지 전사 변이체가 보고되어 있으며, 두 가지 단백질 아이소폼을 암호화합니다.
