Target Information
Caspase 14은 세포 사멸(apoptosis)의 실행 단계에서 중심적인 역할을 하는 cysteine-aspartic acid protease(caspase) 계열의 단백질을 암호화합니다. Caspases는 비활성 프로효소 형태로 존재하며, 보존된 아스파르트산 잔기에서 절단되어 활성 효소를 형성합니다. Caspase 14는 in vitro에서 caspase 8 및 caspase 10에 의해, in vivo에서는 anti-Fas agonist antibody 또는 TNF-related apoptosis inducing ligand에 의해 활성화되는 것으로 알려져 있습니다. 이 단백질의 발현과 처리 과정은 피부 장벽 형성에 중요한 각질형성세포의 최종 분화 과정에 관여할 수 있습니다.
