Target Information
IL-1 receptor associated kinases (IRAKs) are serine/threonine kinases involved in Toll/IL-1 signaling pathways. Overexpression of IRAK4 activates NF-kappa-B and MAPK pathways and phosphorylates IRAK1. IRAK4-deficient animals are resistant to LPS challenge and show impaired responses to viral and bacterial infections. Members of the IRAK/Pelle family play a central role in IL-1R/TLR-mediated inflammatory responses and innate immunity.
