Product Specific Information
The 2D10.4 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD80 (B7-1), a 60 kDa member of the Ig superfamily. CD80 is expressed by activated B cells, macrophages, dendritic cells, and activated T cells.
CD80 binds with high affinity to T cell surface antigens CD28 and CD152 (CTLA-4), playing a critical role in T-B cell communication and activation.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and tested by flow cytometry of normal human peripheral blood cells. Recommended usage: 5 µL (1 µg) per test (100 µL final volume). Cell count range: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.

Target Information
CD80 (B7-1) and CD86 (B7-2) are ligands of the T cell costimulatory molecule CD28 and inhibitory receptor CTLA-4 (CD152). Both are expressed on antigen-presenting cells and are essential for T cell activation.
CD80 is rapidly induced on activated B cells, EBV-transformed B cell lines, Burkitt’s lymphoma cells, follicular B lymphoma cells, T cells, and monocytes.
It provides regulatory signals for T lymphocytes through interactions with CD28 and CTLA4.
CD80 dysfunction is associated with gallbladder squamous cell carcinoma and myocarditis.
