Target Information
This gene product belongs to the tektin family of proteins. Tektins are filament-forming proteins coassembled with tubulins to form ciliary and flagellar microtubules.
TEKT1 is predominantly expressed in the testis. In mouse, tektin 1 mRNA was localized to spermatocytes and round spermatids in seminiferous tubules, indicating its role in spermatogenesis.
