Target Information
Annexin I belongs to a family of Ca²⁺-dependent phospholipid-binding proteins that are preferentially located on the cytosolic face of the plasma membrane. Annexin I has a molecular mass of approximately 40 kDa and exhibits phospholipase A2 inhibitory activity. Since phospholipase A2 is required for the biosynthesis of potent inflammatory mediators such as prostaglandins and leukotrienes, Annexin I may have potential anti-inflammatory activity.
