Target Information
Nuclear factor kB p65 (NF-kB p65) is encoded by the RELA gene located on chromosome 11 in humans. NF-kB p65, also known as RelA, belongs to the Rel family of proteins and forms a heterodimer with subunits p50 or p52. Upon TNF alpha receptor activation, IKK phosphorylates IκB, leading to its proteasomal degradation and subsequent activation of NF-kB. NF-kB p65 plays a crucial role in transcription regulation of the immunoglobulin kappa gene in mature B-lymphoid cells.
