Product Specific Information
Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. Stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
Anti-AKT3 antibody is directed against human AKT3. It detects both unphosphorylated and phosphorylated forms of the protein. Cross-reactivity with AKT3 from other species has not been determined, but the immunogen sequence shows 100% identity to human, mouse, and rat, suggesting expected cross-reactivity. Cross-reactivity with AKT2 and AKT has not been determined.
Target Information
AKT3 (PKB gamma) is stimulated by platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF), insulin, and insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF1). It participates in various biological processes including:
- Cell proliferation and differentiation
- Apoptosis and tumorigenesis
- Glycogen synthesis and glucose uptake
Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been described.
