Target Information
Aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases are enzymes that charge tRNAs with their cognate amino acids. Lysyl-tRNA synthetase is a homodimer localized to the cytoplasm and belongs to the class II family of tRNA synthetases. It is known to be a target of autoantibodies in autoimmune diseases such as polymyositis and dermatomyositis. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified for this gene.
