Product Specific Information
For immunohistochemistry (PFA-fixed samples), incubate the antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
The S100A4 gene encodes a member of the S100 family of calcium-binding proteins containing two EF-hand motifs.
S100 proteins are localized in the cytoplasm and/or nucleus of various cell types and regulate multiple cellular processes such as cell cycle progression and differentiation.
S100 genes are clustered on chromosome 1q21, and S100A4 is associated with cell motility, invasion, and tubulin polymerization.
Altered expression or chromosomal rearrangements of this gene have been linked to tumor metastasis.
Multiple alternatively spliced variants encoding the same protein have been identified.
