Target Information
The protein encoded by the CARD11 gene belongs to the membrane-associated guanylate kinase (MAGUK) family, which functions as a molecular scaffold for multiprotein complex assembly at specialized plasma membrane regions.
It is also part of the CARD protein family, characterized by the caspase-associated recruitment domain (CARD).
CARD11 has a similar domain structure to CARD14, and both interact specifically with BCL10, a positive regulator of cell apoptosis and NF-κB activation.
When expressed in cells, CARD11 activates NF-κB and induces phosphorylation of BCL10.
